VIKING Privacy policy

1. Scope of  Privacy Policy

This privacy policy deals with the handling of personal data, subject to the relationship between VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S (“VIKING”, “our”, “us”, “we”) and the data subject (“you”, “your”). VIKING acts as data controller. 

The privacy notice applies to any personal data gathered by VIKING, in relation to both visits physically in a VIKING office, to our website, our use of Social Media, or when you are in a business relation with VIKING. 

2. Legal basis

Personal data is processed on the legal basis of consent. This is either obtained by VIKING itself, or one of our business partners. Consent will be obtained on an informed basis, and, should you have any questions in relation to consent, you can contact us via the information below. 

You may at any point withdraw any consent given, whereafter VIKING only uses the information processed until the point of withdrawal. 

Relation to third parties

Personal data is never disclosed to third parties without you consenting to it, unless we are required to do so by law. 

3. Personal data

Types and purposes

We never collect personal data unless it is given to us when you are registering, buying or participating in a survey.  

The personal data that could be collected includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Full name, address and zip code.  

  • Email address and position within a company. 

  • Gender, age and country of origin/nationality. 

  • Interest, attitudes and possible participation in an event or conference. 

Personal data can be used to complete purchases or services in which the information was already given previously. The information is also used to customize the site to your, and other users’ preferences.
These may include studies and analysis’ aimed at improving our products, services, and technologies, as well as displaying content and advertising that are customized to your interests and hobbies. The information might also be used for VIKINGs internal knowledge sharing.  

Storage of personal data

The data will be stored until VIKING and yourself no longer have a mutual benefit in each other, or no longer have a relationship. VIKING may also delete the data, based on internal factors. Personal data is deleted or made anonymous continuously, as necessary. Personal data is stored no longer than a maximum of 12 months after final use. 

4. Rights to your data

As the data subject, you have certain rights in relation to our processing of your data. The rights include the following: 

  • Right to access: you have the right to access the data VIKING obtains about you.  

  • Right to ratification: you have the right to have your data corrected, or ratified, should it be inaccurate, or should you want to add more details. 

  • Right to erasure: you have the right to have your data erased at any point. This means that you, under certain circumstances, can have your data deleted from VIKINGs internal point of collection. 

  • Right to restriction of processing: you can limit the processing of your data, by letting VIKING know under which circumstances your data may or may not be used. This is for example where you request that we must get your consent before processing your data.  

  • Right to object to processing: you are hereby entitled to end the processing of your data.  

  • Right to portability: you have the right to request a copy of your data, or request the data being transferred to another controller of data. 

You can at any point lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Any complaint about our data ethics can be brought before the Danish Data Protection Agency, Data Protection Act §39, part. 1 (databeskyttelsesloven, §39, stk. 1). 

5. Security, updating and correcting information

Security

In accordance with the Data Protection Act (databeskyttelsesloven), personal data is kept secure and confidential. We store your information on servers with limited access,  located in controlled facilities. Our security is checked regularly to determine if our user information is being properly managed, while bearing in mind your rights as a user.  

However, we cannot guarantee 100 percent security of the transmissions conducted over the Internet. This means that there can be a risk of an unauthorized party gaining access to your personal data as it is being sent and stored electronically between the user and our servers. Therefore, submit your personal data at your own risk. Personal information is deleted or made anonymous continuously as is necessary. 

Updating and correcting of Privacy Policy

The rapid pace of the Internet means that our policies regarding the processing of personal data can be amended when necessary. We reserve the right to update and amend the guidelines for the handling of personal data. When these policies are changed, the ‘last updated’ date at the top of the page will reflect the amendment. In the case of substantial changes, we will notify users in the form of a visible update notice on our corresponding websites.
