APPENDIX 1 – To installation proposal

1. INSTALLATION

The owner/yard is responsible for calculations and Class approval regarding necessary reinforcement of deck for installation of the supplied equipment. Supply of necessary stiffeners for reinforcements as well as all welding’s. Painting of welded parts and repair of damaged painting when handling the equipment. All to be arranged and paid for by the owner/yard.

The owner/yard to make installation and mounting of cradles for rafts, Hammar vacuum tubing/cable and rubber splittube for the bowsing lines. VIKING will install and connect all lines, liferafts with lashing, Hammar release units and Hammar remote release pumps/ERRS system. The owner/yard to assist with manpower and crane service to load/unload the equipment. Mounting of the system and liferafts to be done by Viking.

In connection with installation and servicing of VIKING Marine Evacuation System the owner/yard is responsible for securing that VIKING representatives (employees) can carry out their work under secure conditions and that current work legislation and directives are followed.

The owner/yard is responsible for securing that all equipment is in proper safe conditions and follows current safety regulations. Evaluation of the safety conditions is made by the VIKING representative on-site. In case the conditions are not acceptable the owner/yard is requested to restore the conditions at their own expense.

2. FUNCTION TEST

The deployment test to be held according to the SOLAS LSA requirements and performed by or under the supervision of VIKING technician. Training of crew members will be carried out free of charge, if this can take place in connection with function test. If a capacity test is required by the authorities, the owner/yard has to arrange necessary volunteers/” passengers” and first-aid personnel. VIKING has performed capacity testing under prototype approval and will not take any responsibility of people participating in additional capacity tests required by authorities or owner/yard. It is the owner/yard’s responsibility that insurance on persons (except VIKING personnel) participating in the test has been made. 

VIKING will in no circumstances accept participation of under aged/children at any kind of tests. The deployment test has to take place in clean seawater, without any kind of oil on the water surface. The vessel to be at least at lightest seagoing condition and a water depth of max. 30m. The owner/yard to make all the arrangements with the approving authority/Class. The owner/yard to arrange rescue/life/tug boat to tow the liferafts, diver if requested, crane service to lift the liferafts and/or slides on shore, access to fresh water for cleaning the liferafts, on the account of the owner/yard. 

The owner/yard to assist with manpower and crane service to load/unload the equipment. The approving authorities may require more liferafts inflated and/or systems tested than included in the offer. This will be charged the owner/yard separately.

3. RE-PACKING AND INSTALLATION

Transportation to servicing station of tested equipment not included. As an alternative the owner/yard to have clean facilities (min. LxBxH 30x10x3m) available for re-packing inclusive electricity, freshwater and compressed air for inflation of liferafts and/or slides, all free of charge. The VIKING technician will specify in detail what is needed in connection with ordering installation and function test.

If the installation, deployment test and re-installation of the equipment take longer time than offered, due to circumstances beyond VIKING’s control, i.e. unavailability of crane service, welding, facilities, shipbuilding personnel or special authority requirements, the owner/yard will cover the extra expenses. Extra cost for 1 (one) Viking technician will be charged at EUR 770, - each day*, excluding accommodation and travelling cost.

Travelling and accommodation costs connected with the supervisors will be charged separately.

4. SYSTEMS TO BE INSTALLED

Mini MES** systems: Installation supervision includes 1 (one) VIKING technician for 3 (three) working days*, free of charge. VIKING to be informed minimum 2 weeks in advance. The harbour deployment test to be held in connection with the installation and to include 1 (one) VIKING technician for 1 (one) working day*, free of charge. VIKING to be informed minimum 2 weeks in advance. After re-packing ( 4 days) the equipment to be reinstalled (2 working days*) by VIKING under the same conditions as stated under pt. 1 – ‘Installation’.

Large MES systems VEDC/VEDS – 2 pcs.: Installation supervision includes 2 (two) VIKING technicians for 10 (ten) working days*, free of charge. VIKING to be informed minimum 2 weeks in advance. The harbour deployment test to be held in connection with the installation and to include 2 (two) VIKING technicians for 1 (one) working day*, free of charge. VIKING to be informed minimum 2 weeks in advance. After re-packing ( 5 days) the equipment to be reinstalled (1 working day*) by 2 (two) VIKING technicians under the same conditions as stated under pt. 1 – ‘Installation’.

Large MES systems VEDC/VEDS – 4 pcs. or more: Installation supervision includes 3 (three) VIKING technicians for 10 (ten) working days*, free of charge. VIKING to be informed minimum 2 weeks in advance. The harbour deployment test to be held in connection with the installation and to include 3 (three) VIKING technicians for 1 (one) working day*, free of charge. VIKING to be informed minimum 2 weeks in advance. After re-packing (5 days) the equipment to be reinstalled (3 working days*) by VIKING under the same conditions as stated under pt. 1 – ‘Installation’.

5. TERMS OF DELIVERY 

VIKING LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT A/S reserves the right to postpone delivery date, partially or entirely, without any liability on the part of VIKING LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT A/S if such postponement is necessary for any reason arising out of or related to any effect of a global pandemic.

Please note that the prices quoted are our sales prices based on delivery from production facilities or stock. As we emphasize to offer the best possible service to our customers and secure professional handling and documentation of the cargo, i.e. specific demands for dangerous goods, we prefer to arrange the transport for you, using INCOTERMS DAP or CIF. This means that freight charges will appear separately on our final invoice along with insurance, as all shipments from VIKING are covered by our global insurance policy.

Change of Delivery Schedule: The deliveries shall take place in itemized shipments in terms in accordance with Clause 3 in VIKING LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT A/S “General Terms and Conditions for the supply of products and services”  unless otherwise agreed. Schedule and delivery time of the PRODUCT and the components can be modified by BYUER within limits as specified below without having any influences to the other terms.
