VIKING’s commitment to anti-corruption & anti-bribery

VIKING prohibits corruption and the payment of bribes or kickbacks of any kind, whether in dealings with public officials or individuals in the private sector.

VIKING is committed to conducting its business with honesty and integrity and in compliance with the laws of all the countries, in which we operate.

To ensure compliance with these laws and the related requirements of our Code of Conduct, VIKING has adopted following anti-corruption and anti-bribery guiding principles that apply to VIKING group staff, partners and independent parties acting on behalf of VIKING.

It is a matter of the highest priority for VIKING, and vital to the interests of our owners, customers and employees, that all VIKING group staff carefully observe these guiding principles.

Guiding principles

1. VIKING is inspired and guided by the principles of the UN Global Compact and strongly believes that businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery as stated in principle 10.

2. VIKING is committed to conducting its business with honesty and integrity and in full compliance with the laws of all the countries, in which we operate and are responsible.

3. VIKING prohibits corruption and the payment of bribes or kickbacks of any kind, whether in dealings with public officials or individuals in the private sector.

4. VIKING group staff shall not consent to any of the before mentioned to:

  • obtain or retain business with any person
  • direct business to any person
  • induce or reward the improper performance by any person of any function or activity

5. VIKING’s books and records must reflect, accurately and fairly, the transactions of the company and dispositions of its assets. No undisclosed or unrecorded funds or assets are to be established for any purpose.

6. VIKING group staff shall seek legal advice from their immediate manager or Country Director in any situation involving questionable payments.

7. Without limitation, VIKING group staff must fully comply with all principles.
